  1. aNumerator data (monthly ED-treated injury count estimates) are from the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System—Occupational Supplement (NEISS-Work) dataset and were produced using the R packages “survey” and “srvyr.” Denominator data (FTE) were obtained from the Current Population Survey (CPS) via the NIOSH Employed Labor Force query system. Variances from both numerator and denominator data were used to calculate 95% CIs using a Taylor series expansion, which is reported as each injury rate estimate ± margin of error. Injury event type definitions are based on the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Injury and Illness Classification System, version 2.01
